Why does your company only offer
Monarch butterflies for release? We only raise Monarch Butterflies. Based on feedback, Monarchs are
the preferred choice of butterflies. Here are just a few of the reasons:
Monarchs are nearly 4
times the size of a Painted Lady. To have the same effect of a Monarch
release, you would need to release at least 4 times as many Painted
Ladies! Monarch butterflies
fly gracefully, unlike Painted Ladies that flutter fast (this makes it
very difficult to get a photograph of the Painted Lady during a
release). Painted Ladies contain
a red-colored dye that can stain clothing, including a Wedding Dress!
Monarchs, on the other hand, pose no chance of this happening.
The Monarch Butterfly has an average
wingspan of between 3 3/8 - 4 1/4", while the Painted Lady has an
average wingspan of only 2-2 1/2".
